2020-2021 Grants Application [closed]
NOTICE: Due to the University intersession/break and the restrictions on travel both in and outside of the US, the Grants Committee will not be funding travel costs at this time for conferences, presentations, internships etc. Applications will be accepted for the rest of the year relating to professional development, virtual conference costs and equipment.

Examples of how these grant funds may be used:
1) Equipment
2) Registration/Admission Fees for Virtual Conferences/Webinars
3) Professional Development Opportunities
4) Supplemental Funding for Clubs/Organizations

Depending on the volume of applications, the time between submission and processing can take approximately 2-3 weeks to appear in the students' accounts. Processing is conducted by University offices' following CUSC's approval of the application.

FAQ:
1. "I'm a fifth-year or graduate student. Am I eligible to apply?"
No. Only Clark undergraduate students who are not studying abroad are eligible to apply and receive a grant.

2. "I live on campus and would like to request funds for housing?"
Yes. Please be ready to provide your approval from ResLife for the allotted week(s)/month(s) you have been approved to stay.

3. "I'm planning on doing an internship and would like some monetary assistance"
No, this year we will not be funding these opportunities due to COVID-19 restrictions. Please contact the Dean of Students Office (DOS@clarku.edu) for or Career Services for assistance.

4. "I'm going to a conference *with a group* and would like some monetary assistance. How much can we expect?"
No, this year we will not be funding these opportunities due to COVID-19 restrictions. Please contact the Dean of Students Office (DOS@clarku.edu) or Career Services for assistance.

5. "Can I use the money to pay someone for a service?"
No. The money has to go to a legitimate organization who is providing a service to you or your event.

6. "Can I pay for some of the things I need and then get reimbursed?"
No. Grants request funds can not be used for reimbursement. Please ensure that nothing you intend to use grant funding for has been paid in advance.

7. "Should I be seeking funds from other sources?"
Yes. We encourage students to seek funds from other sources, as we cannot guarantee full funding allocations.

8. "I plan to attend a virtual conference and need assistance to pay for the admission."
Yes, please include a budget break down of cost and links associated with the organization hosting the event.

Bear in mind that the Grants committee reserves the right to adjust your request for full, partial, or zero funding however we see fit. Grants recommendations also need to be voted upon and approved by a majority vote of the Clark Undergraduate Student Council. The FAQ here is not a legal document, but a generalization of our internal procedures and bylaws that we must adhere to as part of the Clark Undergraduate Student Council Constitution. You may find additional information at General Meetings (Thursdays 7pm, Details on Engage).

*Funds can take one week or multiple weeks to reach you after that if students have never been on payroll. It needs to be processed by University offices. That's not up to us.
