Your pet's health, safety, and overall experience is important to us! Due to the nature of the grooming process, we cannot always predict your pet's response or the physical outcome in advance of the grooming service. Below, we have identified situations which make the grooming services we provide less predictable. Your groomer will monitor your pet throughout the grooming service but if we determine that continuing the service would present a threat to your pet's emotional or physical health, and/or the safety of the groomer, we will discontinue the service and contact you immediately. Below, you are consenting to the indicated condition(s) present and agree and understand that due to their intrinsic nature, the outcome of the grooming service will be subject to certain limitations, may contain more risks, and a less than desirable outcome.

Cats are creatures of habit and when exposed to a new environment they can experience elevated stress levels. In the event that your cat is too stressed to safely continue the groom, all procedures will stop and you will be notified immediately.

Medical--Occasionally, grooming can expose a hidden medical problem or aggravate a current one. This can occur during or after grooming. Your groomer will let you know of any concerns or developments while in See Spot’s care- however, may not be able to predict your pet's response to all facets of the grooming experience.

Parasites-- We do not encourage or actively service pets with parasite infestation but if we do encounter a pet that has those, we will charge an additional parasite handling fee. A groomer’s scope is to service a normal, healthy pet- anything outside of that range will be referred to a veterinarian for additional care.

Matted pets-- If your pet is severely tangled or matted, it is at a greater risk of injury, stress, and trauma. All necessary precautions will be taken to ensure a safe and comfortable grooming process however, problems occasionally arise during or after grooming such as nicks, clipper irritation, and mental or physical stress. Your groomer will let you know of any concerns they may have during the grooming process.

Senior pets--Senior pets (age 10 and over) are at a greater risk of injury and stress due to the natural aging process. All necessary precautions will be taken to ensure a comfortable grooming process, however special accommodations might need to be made for your senior pet. The groomer will discuss these accommodations with you, as well as any concerns that might arise during the grooming process. Please note See Spot Grooming does not accept new clients over the age of 15 years.

Behavioral--Pets who are not cooperative for the grooming service are identified as requiring special Behavior Handling. Due to the intimate nature of the grooming process, these pets are at a higher risk for stress, injury, or trauma because they show a higher level of reactivity during their visit. These pets are paired with See Spot team members who have received additional training designed to increase the pets willingness and cooperation and manage the reactivity of the pet more effectively. We will assess a behavioral fee for any pets who require extra assistance beyond healthy normal behavior. If we determine that continuing the grooming service would present a threat to your dog's emotional or physical health, and/or the safety of the groomer completing the service, we will discontinue the service and contact you immediately.

I hereby grant permission to See Spot to perform scheduled grooming procedures to my pet, and understand the limitations and conditions noted above are currently present in my pet on the day of grooming. I also grant permission to obtain emergency veterinary treatment for my pet at my expense. I will not hold this establishment responsible for accident or injury to my pet. I agree to pay for all services rendered toward my pet regardless of accident, injury, or discontinuation of service. I agree and acknowledge that images of my pet may be captured and distributed for educational or advertising purposes during the grooming service.
