The Green Aaron Family Foundation STEM mini grants for Educators will provide educators in Los Angeles County schools/districts with funds to increase the number of students taking and succeeding in advanced math and science courses in
grades 7-11; and, it is anticipated that the use of funds will provide students with the support needed to access and succeed in college. The target student demographic for this mini-grant program includes students who represent one or more of the following demographic traits: low income, student of color, LGBTQ+, immigrant/refugee, unhoused, youth in foster care.
The maximum grant award per teacher is $500.00.
STEM mini-grants can be used to fund:- STEM-related curriculum materials and/or supplies for the classroom
- Afterschool STEM partnerships and programs
- Participation in conferences and teacher or student STEM field experiences or workshops.
Administrative Approval: Prior to the approval of each grant, the school principal or, if a regional or district level grant, the appropriate supervising administrator, must provide a brief letter of support indicating that he/she approves of the proposed project.
Accountability: Mini-grant recipients will be required to provide receipts for expenditures, photos of the project in action, and a statement regarding how the funds benefitted students.
