Thank you for your interest in the Leadership Studies Program at the University of Maryland. We offer both a minor and certificate open to undergraduates enrolled in any college or major at the University of Maryland. This application is for both the minor and certificate.

While we accept applications year-round, we typically review applications and admit students to the program every fall and spring semester during designated applications windows (typically Oct-Nov and Mar-Apr). If you apply to the program outside of the application window, we will keep your application on file for consideration during the next closest review period.

The application below contains questions divided into three sections:

* Demographic Information
* Leadership Studies Coursework (your plans for completing the course requirements)
* Short Answer Questions (highlighting your interest in/readiness for this program)

Please read the section and question instructions carefully. More information about the Leadership Studies coursework is in included throughout the application and can also be found on our website: https://go.umd.edu/leadershipstudies. You may wish to review the program requirements and courses on our website prior to filling out this application, or have them up on your screen at the same time for reference.

It may also be helpful for you to prepare your responses to the short answer questions on a separate document before placing them in the application, as your work may not "save" within the application prior to submitting. For your reference, the short answer questions are listed here.

You should respond in about 250-300 words for each:

* How will learning about leadership inform your future aspirations?
* Tell us a bit about where and how you spend your time when you are not in class.
* What strengths do you bring to a learning community?
