Board Member Responsibilities/Expectations

Board members play a vital role in guiding our ministry, ensuring we remain faithful to our mission, and being good stewards of the resources entrusted to us.

Responsibilities & Expectations of UCM Board Members:

Be an ambassador for UCM. Members should believe in the purpose and mission of UCM (ucmpc.org) and act responsibly and prudently as its steward. Share our mission, values, and impact with the community, represent the organization well, and serve as a spokesperson for our work.
Communicate our needs. Help connect UCM with the community by speaking out for our neighbors in need and ensuring that UCM remains accountable and true to its mission.
Be present and lead through discernment. Attend Board meetings (1 hour on the 3rd Monday every other month at UCM) and committee meetings as needed for a 3-year term. Ask questions, offer input, and take responsibility in making decisions on issues, policies, and matters that shape UCM’s future.
Support our mission actively. Participate in or support (with your time, talents, or treasures) at least one fundraiser or event each year, helping ensure we have the resources to serve our neighbors in need.
