TMH got it's start in 2017 by introducing a new, safer and more professional way to do business. A centralized pickup service for online makers.

Cheryl, the owner, brings years of retail experience from Canadian retailers; Jacob, Dynamite and Jean Machine. As well, ran her own successful handmade business in Durham for 5 years. Cheryl has worked in customer service for over 25 years and takes great pride in delivering an incredible customer experience.

In 2020 TMH won first place in the Reader's Choice Awards for 'Best Boutique', 'Best Online Boutique', and 'Best Distribution'. This was extra special for us, as it was voted on by the people of Durham. We will be working hard in 2021 to honour our status of #1.

Our online Boutique opened in 2019. Our vision was, and still is, to provide makers and artisans with a multi-vendor selling platform that offers support and community. In 2020 we expanded our virtual marketplace to include our FB shopping group 'The Local Market'. Which now includes over 5,000 members and growing!!

We promote and drive traffic to the website through our social media channels (FB/IG), as well as in our retail store. Feel free to checkout @themakershubofdurham to checkout our feeds.

With our high value on customer service and experience, we do not charge our shoppers fees to shop with us, but instead ask our vendors to build the cost of business into their pricing. This creates a better customer experience for our shoppers.

----- R E Q U I R E M E N T S -----

To be accepted, vendors must have a creative, handmade element to their process and finished product.

***Food vendors must work in a Dinesafe approved kitchen, hold a current Food Handlers permit and business insurance.***

***Bath & Body vendors are required to have business insurance and industry compliant labeling.***

Orders through our website, for pickup, must be at TMH in Whitby, 1380 Hopkins St Unit #5. Otherwise shipped directly to the customer.

New vendors are committed to a 3 month term to start. Cancellations require 14 days notice.

----- P I C K U P S ------

Pickup credits may be purchased in bulk. Credits do not expire and may be used for all your orders (not just those sold with us).

$1.60-$2/pickup

Includes;
- 1 month storage
- pickup notification
- pickup reminders @ 15, 28, 45 days
- status tracking

Porch pickup and meet ups to exchange are prohibited unless approved by TMH.

All vendors may offer shipping. This is not mandatory.

Shipping is coming to our online Boutique in 2021! Until then vendors can offer shipping directly and make arrangements/payment directly with customers.

TMH provides all vendors with a seller's dashboard. This dashboard syncs with our point of sale, allowing vendors to be notified of sales real-time, receive sales stats, manage stock and more.

TMH provides detailed monthly sales reports.

Payouts are made monthly by direct deposit.

ADT security and cameras on site.

Safe, secure, tracked and trusted, pickup service.

----- TURNAROUND TIME GUARANTEE -----

Turnaround expectations are 14 days or less. During the peak shopping season, 21 days is considered reasonable, but less preferred.

Guarantees are displayed clearly in each listing.

At The Hub, we love to support our vendors. Some of the ways we do this is through our private vendor's group, knowledge sharing, transparency, networking, video tutorials, Zoom Maker-Meetups partnered with the BACD, and of course sharing tips and tricks we've learned over the years. Our motto is Community Over Competition and that's truly the heart of what we do.

TMH is Durham Region based. Our application is open to Durham and surrounding regions.
