2019 Women Can Do Workshop Proposal
Workshops are 1 hr long and are offered 3 times during the event: 9:30-10:30, 10:40-11:40 & 1:00-2:00. Workshops should highlight a career where women are underrepresented, such as STEAM and the skilled trades, or life skills such as personal finance, public speaking, job search skills, etc. Workshops can include a brief introduction (5-7 minutes), during which instructors are encouraged to share about their industry, their career path, and what they do, and must include hands-on, experiential activities connected with the career or industry (45 min). Time is left at the end for questions, reflections and a brief survey (7-10 min).
We are especially interested in workshops that highlight the following career fields: construction, engineering (civil, electrical, industrial, mechanical, etc.), web & software developers, law enforcement & forensics, cyber-security, environmental & health science, graphic design, film production/direction, advanced manufacturing.
