In June 2020, the first community programme application for Gigabit Broadband was made for Burton Bradstock village. Unfortunately, it did not progress as the interest and numbers in the application were not sufficient for the Government's voucher scheme criteria for financing. In December 2020, a poll of Burton Bradstock local businesses and village institutions was taken to determine interest and to bolster the numbers from the original application - again interest wasn't great. However, in the process, it came to light that neighbouring villages were also applying. By combining the interest from Puncknowle and Swyre the original application now met the criteria for both Government and Local Dorset Council funding. Unfortunately, this funding came to an end in March and the qualifying application had missed the deadline. The GOOD news is that the interest from the three villages now qualifies for the community application for the Government's new Gigabit Voucher scheme issued on 8th of April (home and businesses in rural locations can use vouchers to support the cost of installing new gigabit-capable connections when part of a group project). In order to progress to final offer stage, we require you to confirm your are still interested by completing this form. More details of the conditions, process, next steps can be found at
