Onyx Magazine: Editorial Positions
After the successful launch of I:DAWN, we are now looking for the next wave of Editors of African and Caribbean heritage to lead and create the next edition of Onyx Magazine. Our Editors in each section will have a demonstrable passion for the subject area of the editorial position you are applying for, and any previous experience is advantageous but not strictly necessary.

The following editorial positions are available:

POETRY & FICTION SUB-EDITOR
FILM & THEATRE EDITOR
LIFESTYLE & CULTURE SUB-EDITOR
FASHION & ART SUB-EDITOR
HISTORY & POLITICS SUB-EDITOR

Editor Responsibilities:
- Weekly meetings, either in person or by Skype, feeding back on given tasks
- Sourcing, writing, editing and selecting articles that will form the next edition of Onyx Magazine
- Overseeing and organising a team of sub-editors


DEPUTY EDITOR: (must be based in, or willing to travel to Oxford)
The position of Deputy Editor requires highly organised individuals who are able to blend managerial responsibilities as well as editorial skills. Deputy Editor responsibilities include:

Deputy Editor Responsibilities:
- Managing and overseeing Onyx Editors and Onyx Officers
- Supporting the Editor-In-Chief with management and key-decision making of the magazine; printing, finances, promotion, distribution etc.
- Support magazine in final stages after lay-in and before print.



Successful applicants will display a creative flair and an active dedication to the creativity of the Black diaspora. We welcome applications from graduates and undergraduate students of African and Caribbean heritage who have previously studied at or are studying in any University within the UK .
