BAAEC Youth Advocate Program 2021-2022
Want to make a difference in your community? Apply for Day One's Youth Advocacy Program in Bassett/Avocado Heights! This is a great opportunity for youth to voice their concerns on community issues through advocacy and community engagement. The Youth Advocacy Program is committed to amplifying youth voice. This is a safe place that allows youth to share issues they feel require attention in their schools and communities while having access to expert mentors and staff that can help them learn how to DO Something about it!  If accepted, youth are required to attend in person and/or virtual weekly meetings and monthly community events. The Youth Advocates will be energy stewards and leaders by encouraging their community members to actively take part in energy efficiency practices and participation in the Bassett Avocado Height Advanced Energy Community (BAAEC) project. We will also coordinate fun and exciting events to meet other youth and explore the San Gabriel Valley/Los Angeles County area! This is a great way to build your college readiness, resume, and receive volunteer hours or credit!
