SAFE Homes Parent Pledge
SAFE Homes (Support Alcohol Free Environments) creates a network of parents seeking to reduce teenage drug and alcohol use. The network encourages communication between parents to increase the safety of our teens.
Parents who sign the pledge will be listed on the NS-CASA web site on the SAFE Homes page along with their email addresses. When your child asks to go to a friend’s home, you will be able to look for the parent’s name and see if they have signed the pledge. PLEASE KNOW THAT THE PLEDGE IS NOT A LEGALLY BINDING DOCUMENT. It is a set of guidelines to help prevent and reduce underage drinking and drug use in our community.
By signing this pledge, I affirm that:
The use of tobacco, alcohol, or drugs by underage youth will not be permitted or condoned in my home or on my property. I agree to use my best efforts to provide active supervision at gatherings of underage youth in my home or on my property.
I encourage communication from other parents who observe or suspect my child is using alcohol or drugs.
I encourage communication from other parents if they suspect that alcohol or drugs have been consumed at my home.
