Fabricated Forests Workshop October 19th

Come and create abstract landscape art using yarn and fibre art techniques!

We will spend the 4 hour workshop envisioning and creating structural fabricated forest scenes.

Wrapping, hand weaving, painting, and sewing can all be utilized to articulate the feeling of being deep in the woods.

Early bird registration May 1st - July 31st $40.00

General registration August 1st - October 1st $55.00

$20.00 Kit fee payable to Amy on the day of the workshop

Cancellation policy - Your registration is completely transferable. If for some reason you are unable to attend the workshop, we will make every effort to fill your vacancy. If we are able to fill your spot we will refund your registration fee minus a $20.00 administrative fee. If we are unable to fill your vacancy, we will be unable to refund your fee.

a little about Amy
Amy Bagshaw earned her BFA from Queen’s University in 2002, and MFA from Stony Brook University, New York, with a focus on fibre installation and intermedia in 2006. A Graduate Women’s Studies Scholar, her practice extends to Gender Studies and Art Theory. She has exhibited through Canada, the United States, and Europe, including Vancouver’s Drawing Festival, The International World of Threads Fibre Arts Festival in Oakville, The University of Belgrade’s Exchange in Serbia, and a solo exhibit in Soho, NY. Her most recent solo exhibit in 2019 at the Campus Gallery in Barrie ON, included an installation on line and time: thousands of multi-decade collected lists juxtaposed against abstracted landscape drawings.

Bagshaw has received an Ontario Arts Council Grant, has had a Residency at The Banff Centre and her work can be seen on the cover of Feminist Time Against Nation Time (Dietrich and Hesford, 2008) and Brava Kilo’s album cover Hang On, You Demons (2018). She is a full-time Professor and Program Coordinator in the Department of Interior Design at Yorkville University.
