Peer Mentor Application 2016-2017
APACC’s Peer Mentor Program helps upperclassmen develop leadership, critical thinking, and mentorship skills while providing new students with personalized mentorship that connects them to campus resources and community, allowing them to develop the skills they need to become engaged community leaders.


Fall semester
□ Attend Peer Mentor Training on Thursday, August 18 from 8:30 am–3:30 pm.
□ Register for HDFS 497D: APACC Peer Mentor class held weekly on Tuesdays, 8:30 –10:30 am.
□ 1-2 hours a week connecting with mentees in person or by phone/email.
□ Monthly peer mentor group events.
□ Biweekly check-ins with supervisor.

Spring semester
□ Weekly group check-ins (1 hour).
□ 1-2 hours a week connecting with mentees.
□ Monthly peer mentor group events.
□ Biweekly check-ins with supervisor.

□ Minimum GPA of 2.50.
□ Minimum sophomore standing (as of Fall 2016)
□ Ability to work and communicate effectively in teams
□ Peer mentors must complete a background check with the university.
