- Once you submit this application form, we will confirm your plans with Where There Be Dragons in order to finalize your enrollment.
- GYA will send an introduction to your coursework to the email provided on this form. If you are registering for GYA courses (CTE or COLS course titles), the introduction will include instructions for joining courses via Google Classroom.*
- GYA will introduce you to an individual Instructor of Record who will grade all of your coursework and serve as a resource for any course questions during your semester.
*You will not need to complete any GYA coursework in Google Classroom during your gap year program; however, you should access your course overview and assignment descriptions via Google Classroom prior to your program starting, and submit all final assignments via Google Classroom after your program has concluded. Any Where There Be Dragons language courses will be facilitated during your program, and will not use Google Classroom.
- Where There Be Dragons will invoice students directly for enrollment in college credit coursework. A flat credit registration fee is due per semester of enrollment, for any number of courses up to 12 credits.
- Federal financial aid is not available for gap year programs. However, third party payments such as AmeriCorps Education Awards and 529 funds* may be used. Please alert Where There Be Dragons immediately if you wish to use a third party payment method.
- Students will NOT receive a tuition statement tax form (1098-T) for enrollment in GYA college credit. In lieu of a 1098-T, please maintain proof of tuition and credit registration payment to Where There Be Dragons and documentation of credits earned in the form of a student ID number and official transcript.
*529 plans vary by state. Please consult with your plan administrator to verify requirements for tax-deferred withdrawals. The University of Montana is currently unable to accept 529 funds on behalf of program providers, so any 529 funds used must be sent directly to the program provider (in this case, Where There Be Dragons).
