Our volunteer licensed practitioners (Registered Traditional Chinese Medicine Practitioners , RTCMP and/or Registered Acupuncturists, RAC) are here to provide free help. We will conduct video conferencing and guide you through self-acupressure along with breathing exercises and other techniques that might help your emotional well being and relieve stress and anxiety.

If you would like to get support to improve your mental well-being and are front line healthcare workers or other workers who provide essential services and have been impacted by COVID-19.

Once we receive your request submission, we will provide you with the practitioners’ names and email addresses of up to 2 participating practitioners.

DETAILS ON HOW THIS WORKS
The contents of this form will only be handled by a licensed clinician. All personal information is handled securely and in confidence.

When we receive your request form, we will send you an email with the practitioners’ names and email addresses of up to 2 participating practitioners.

Participating practitioners will provide guidance of self-acupressure techniques focusing on stress and anxiety relief. Some might incorporate breathing exercises to promote relaxation. Each worker will be provided with up to 3 free sessions.

ABOUT US
Acu4nurses+ is a non-funded and non-profit initiative powered by a group of volunteer Registered Traditional Chinese Medicine Practitioners and Registered Acupuncturists in Ontario. This project was founded by Christine Fung (RTCMP, RAC) with the intention of supporting frontline workers during the pandemic of COVID-19.
Disclaimers
* We do not recommend or endorse any type of treatment, education institution or professional education background. The referrals will include the practitioners’ contact information and, if provided to us, their website and professional background description.  We encourage frontline workers to learn more about their practitioners and their professional background by checking their website and/or speaking to them directly.  We do not monitor their conduct of the volunteering practitioners.  In the event of any issues or complaints about the practitioners and their support they provide, frontline worker should contact the regulated body, College of Traditional Chinese Medicine Practitioners and Acupuncturists of Ontario (CTCMPAO).

* Upon signing up, a licensed practitioner asked to provide their registration number and class of registration issued by the regulated body, College of Traditional Chinese Medicine Practitioners and Acupuncturists of Ontario (CTCMPAO). While a reasonable attempt is made to verify this number prior to adding the practitioner to the database, we do not monitor the practitioner professional status and therefore cannot and do not assume responsibility for, or guarantee, that any of the representations made by the practitioners about their professional credentials or background are accurate or true.

* Participating practitioners are reminded that their work with frontline workers will be subject to, and must be complied with, all applicable laws, regulations and standard applicable to the practice of traditional Chinese medicine and acupuncture services in Ontario.  Participating practitioners do not and should not provide any form of assessment, treatment plan, and/or treatment. Regardless of the format of the sessions (e.g. phone, video conference) in which a practitioner practices, the applicable professional Regulations, Codes of Ethics and Professional Practice Standards will apply.

* It is up to each frontline worker and their chosen practitioner to agree on the details of their 3 free sessions and, if there is mutual agreement to continue the sessions, thereafter.

* We reserve the right to reject the registration of a person who does not qualify as a frontline worker.  Our practitioners will have the right to refuse to provide their free service to such a person at any time.

* We respect your privacy. The personal information gathered on this site is limited to that provided by persons who register on this platform as either Ontario COVID-19 workers, the participating practitioners or their associates. We will not sell or distribute this information to any other party.

* The personal data collected on this site is submitted voluntarily by help-seekers and registered practitioners. Submitted data is transmitted securely to an email account that is used solely for this purpose.

* The information is only seen by an Ontario licensed practitioner. All information is held in confidence and will not be disclosed to any third party, unless the law requires us otherwise.
