The Percentage Project is a 501(c)(3) non-profit organization and leader in data-driven advocacy. Our goal is to inform departments and students across the country about the status of diversity and inclusion in their Engineering departments. We are always looking for new Faculty Advisors and Campus Directors from schools across the country and are excited to hear from you!
We drive our mission by having our Program Development Director guide Faculty Advisors and Campus Directors through the process of developing a department census, performing data analysis on census data, and launching a social media campaign similar to the ones we have over the past four years (please visit
https://percentageproject.com/ to see the galleries). This program will take place during the Fall and Spring Semesters of 2022-2023.
Faculty Advisors can serve as an important guiding resource for their campus team by acting as a liaison between students and the rest of the CS department. The role is advisory and mainly involves oversight rather than implementation, which is carried out by a student team you select. Recurring faculty advisors may also get the opportunity to get involved with the non-profit and help shape our annual programming, survey design, and organizational goals in the future.
