Utopia Opera is pleased to announce cast vacancies for the next production of our Ninth Season all themed around COMEDY at the OPERA.

Salieri vs. Mozart
a double-bill of
Antonio Salieri's Prima la musica e poi la parole (sung in Italian)
& Wolfgang Amadeus Mozart's The Impresario (sung in German with English dialogue)
New York Performances with Orchestra - Upper East Side - Sat May 2 evening, Sunday May 3 matinee, Friday May 8 evening, Saturday May 9 matinee & evening

Full music/staging rehearsals will begin with regularity in April. Group rehearsals will generally take place in Manhattan on evenings and weekends, though weekday mornings and afternoons may be used if availability is flexible. Complete evening (5/6pm and on)/weekend availability is required for 7 days prior to May 2. Otherwise we will do our best to accommodate your pre-existing conflicts. Not everyone will be called to every rehearsal. The show may be double-cast. Calltimes are approximately 1 to 2.5 hours before showtime.

Performers of all descriptions of race, gender, age, ability, or appearance are encouraged to apply. All roles are cast with no consideration for these designations. The only prerequisite for application is having a suitable vocal range for the role (this consideration, naturally, does not apply to spoken roles). Performers may be offered roles in both halves of the production.
