SUSD Chromebook At-Home Loaner and Insurance Programs

Students actively enrolled at SUSD in grades K-12 are eligible to borrow a filtered Chromebook for at-home use for FREE.  Chromebooks will remain at home with the student, even during the summer, unless the student withdraws, graduates or chooses to return the device.  Chromebooks must be returned when a student is no longer enrolled at SUSD.  Chromebooks NOT RETURNED will be considered STOLEN and REPORTED as such to the POLICE. 

SUSD also provides optional Chromebook insurance.  This insurance covers ONE student using ANY SUSD device on campus OR at home.  If a student drops or breaks ANY device while in the classroom or at home, insurance covers repair and replacement costs. Otherwise, the student would be responsible for the costs.

A parent/guardian may apply for insurance and the FREE At-Home Loaner Program by completing this form (click NEXT).  There is no charge for a loaner CB, but any breakage will be the responsibility of the student unless insurance is purchased. The Parent must PICK UP the Chromebook from the TTC. SUSD CHROMEBOOK AT-HOME LOANER PROGRAM
  1. Devices are SUSD property and should be protected from loss, damage or theft.  Stolen, lost or devices damaged due to negligent behavior will be the FINANCIAL responsibility of the person who provided their Drivers License at the time of pickup. Purchasing the Insurance Option is strongly encouraged.  

  2. Devices are FILTERED as a student.

  3. Inspect the device when issued and report any damage immediately to avoid damage charges.

  4. Devices should not be left in environments with temperatures below 40 or above 95 ℉. 

  5. All activity (at school or at home) conducted on SUSD equipment is monitored and must comply with the SUSD Electronic User Agreement signed at school.

  6. Devices are for SUSD students ONLY.  Use by anyone else is prohibited. Devices are to be used for SUSD EDUCATIONAL PURPOSES ONLY.

  7. Keep liquid away from devices and do not insert foreign objects (paperclips, pens, etc.) into the ports.

  8. Do not mark on devices with markers, stickers, etc. Do not remove the district identification barcode. 

  9. The person presenting a driver’s license and picking up the device agrees to pay for replacement of lost, stolen or damage due to negligent behavior.

OPTIONAL SUSD DEVICE INSURANCE PROGRAM--$40 per student (Annual Renewal $20)

1st Repair = FREE 2nd Repair = $30 or repair cost (whichever is lower) Coverage ends the day before the new school year
-NO REFUNDS after 10 days of receiving insurance payment

TERMS OF INSURANCE: No Refunds after 10 days of receiving insurance payment.

  • This insurance policy covers ONE student using any SUSD Device or adapter on campus or at home.
  • Coverage starts the day payment for insurance is received and continues until the day before school starts the following year OR until the SECOND claim is processed.  After the second claim, this policy is terminated and a new policy will need to be purchased for continued coverage.
  • 1st Claim is covered with no additional cost or deductible.
  • 2nd Claim requires a $30 deductible or the cost of the repair (whichever is lower).

CLAIM PROCEDURES

  • Turn in device and adapter to the TTC at 1245 W. 11th St. Safford, AZ 85546 (CLOSED FRIDAYS)
  • A loaner device will be issued.
  • In cases of theft, a Police Report MUST accompany the report to technology and directly mention the circumstances surrounding the lost device. 

TO PURCHASE INSURANCE
  • Insurance may be purchased through school secretary or through the Technology and Training Center at 1245 W. 11th St. (please call 928-348-7018 if coming to the TTC).
  • TTC and School Offices are CLOSED on FRIDAY'S
  • Payment Options: ONLY EXACT CASH AMOUNT or CHECK made payable to Safford Unified School District.
DEVICE PICK UP (may include insurance payment)-- DRIVERS LICENSE REQUIRED FOR PICKUP
Parents can PICK UP the Chromebook from the TTC as soon as form is submitted.
  • Device Pick Up from the Technology and Training Center M-Th 8:00 a.m. - 4:00 p.m. - CLOSED FRIDAYS.  
  • The TTC is located at 1245 W. 11th Street.  Enter the north side of the LNS parking lot and proceed west down the roadway past LNS gym. TTC building has a parking lot. Do NOT go to the classroom door.  Our tech shop door is around the corner of the parking lot. 
  • You can also call 928-348-7018 to ensure someone is in the shop before you come.
