Every Friday, we will be open for people to come enjoy our space, look at our archive and are also opening 2–3 exclusive, 1–2 hour consultation and Risograph printing slots! Walk-Ins & Community Space 🎨
Observation & Community: While printing slots are reserved via RSVP, the studio remains open to the public for our Design Cafe from 12:00 PM – 6:00 PM for free observation, design work, and community connection.
Standby Policy: We give priority to confirmed RSVPs, but if a reserved slot becomes available or a customer finishes early, we will happily accommodate standby projects on a first-come, first-served basis.
Important Details:
Project Size: These sessions are specifically meant for smaller projects or proofing projects. Final print runs will move forward based on complexity and available time.
Discount Timing: The 20% discount only applies to printing that is paid for and completed during your scheduled Friday slot. Projects scheduled for a later date will pay the full price.
Supplies Etc: As a community resource we will also do our best to provide visitors with access to cutters, bone folders, and other materials to make things happen that aren't directly printing related. We just ask for your patience, care of the space and materials, and a little donation if you can - Donate here!
Best Projects for Sala Sessions
- Poster: Ideal for single-sided, high-impact designs (1-3 colors) that benefit from the Riso's vibrant inks and low-cost volume for fast event promotion or art prints.
- Cards or Postcards: Perfect for small-run merchandise or thank-you notes that can be ganged multiple times on a single sheet for maximum efficiency and affordability.
- Small Zines: Best suited for proofs of short booklets or zines. Due to potential complexity, full-run printing may require scheduling a later date at the full price.
How it works:
RSVP Below: Use the form to submit your project details (quantity, color, paper, etc.) and your preferred 1–2 hour timeslot.
Get Your Quote: Our team will review your submission and email you back with a confirmed timeslot and your discounted quote before Friday. If in person, you can fill out our estimate form here.
The Consultation Fee:
To ensure dedicated focus and support, a $30 per hour consultation fee applies to your scheduled time.
If you PRINT: The $30/hour fee is WAIVED (credited back) when you pay for your final Risograph project on Friday.
If you DO NOT print: The time you spend working in the studio is billed at $30 per hour (e.g., $30 for 1 hour, $60 for 2 hours). Our consultations normally cost $80-$150.
Print & Save: Arrive at your confirmed time on Friday with your files and computer ready. We’ll perform final digital proofing, process your payment (with the 20% off applied!), and get your project running on the Risograph!

Limited Slots: We only have three 1–2 hour slots open each Friday—space is extremely limited.
