National Rural Leadership Development Inventory
Rural leadership development, defined as building the capacity of individuals, organizations, businesses, and communities in rural areas to address their own needs, is a vital part of encouraging development, enhancing vitality, and promoting health in rural communities. This research effort seeks to categorize and better understand rural leadership development efforts that are taking place across this country. We'd like to be inclusive as possible, including all efforts ranging from formal training programs directly concerned with leadership development, as well as informal efforts that may not be geared directly toward leadership. If your effort includes leadership development either as a specified objective, or as an intended or unintended outcome, we want to hear from you.
If you are reading this paragraph, you and your organization have been chosen to provide information about your efforts to promote rural leadership development. Please take the time to fill out the following instrument to the best of your ability. If you feel like certain questions do not apply to your organization or effort or if you do not feel comfortable providing information, feel free to skip questions as necessary.
