Application Timeline
Applications for NMIX classes are open every year from:

- February 1 to February 28 for Summer and Fall classes (Late Applications accepted until end of drop/add in August)
- October 1 to October 31 for Spring classes (Late Applications accepted until end of drop/add in January)

Do NOT submit an application prior to application opening  - the application form will not be updated and responses will not be collected.

If it is during application season, please proceed and submit a separate application for each NMIX course.
Application Review Schedule
Applications will be reviewed on the following schedule:

SPRING: Priority PODs are distributed in mid-March. After March, applications will only be reviewed for classes with open seats.

FALL: Priority PODs are distributed in mid-November. After November, applications will only be reviewed for classes with open seats.

NOTE: A student’s ability to progress through the New Media Certificate is dependent on a combination of the following: quality of work, attitude, professionalism, ability to work with peers, and commitment and effort to making awesome things work better. When applicable, current NMIX grades and portfolios are reviewed for each applicant. Satisfactory progress in current NMI classes may be evaluated by faculty. While grades are not the sole deciding factor, applicants earning less than a B- in an NMIX course may be considered ineligible. Successful completion of the certificate is not guaranteed.

All application notifications are sent via email to the address provided on this form.
Slack
Students are required to opt in to the NMI workspace (bit.ly/uganmi) and appropriate channels each semester, before the end of drop/add. Get in the habit of checking Slack and engaging on a regular basis. Slack can (and should) be downloaded on your mobile device and computer. What are you waiting for?
