Open Learning Scholarship 2019-2020
This is an application form for the Open Learning (OL) Scholarship Semester 1 2019-20. OL Scholarship recipients can take up to 3 modules in Semester 1 2019-20.
All information provided in this form is treated in the strictest confidence and will not be used for any purposes other than to assess an application for this scholarship.
Notes for Completing Scholarship Application:
Applicants from low-income households are invited, and priority will be given to:

- Students with a Disability
- First time Mature
- Irish Traveller
- Lone parents who are in receipt of a means-tested social welfare payment
- Ethnic minorities
- Refugees and those with leave to remain

Please complete all sections in full.

Please provide as much detail as possible because the application assessment can only be made based on the information provided.

Please note the scores allocated for each section.

Certain anonymised applicant data will be shared with Open Learning reps from the five HEIs that are part of PATH Leinster Pillar I Consortium (i.e. UCD, TCD, NCAD, IADT and MIE). The purpose of this sharing is to shortlist candidates. No identifiable data will be shared with other HEIs (i.e. name, contact number, email and home address will be fully anonymised). Only anonymised data pertaining to the remaining questions in ‘Your Details’ and sections A to D incl. will be shared with other HEIs. Data from sections E and F (i.e. financial information) in the application form will not be shared with other HEIs.

Shortlisted candidates may be asked to submit additional documentation.

All applications will be assessed based on the following criteria:
- Low household income (less than €45,790)

- Challenges faced in accessing higher education

- Achievements in community, charity, sport and other interests

- Motivation to study at higher level

- Career plans

- Financial need

Please note:
Closing Date is strictly: 23 August 2019 at 5 pm.

Incomplete or late applications will not be assessed by the Scholarship Committee.
