Baptism Registration at Visitation
The Sacrament of Baptism is the beginning of our journey in faith as Catholics. The first of the three sacraments of initiation, baptism cleanses us from sin and welcomes us into the Church. We baptize children as infants.
Are you parishioners at Vis?
No, but our child's godparents OR grandparents are parishioners.
Child's/Parents' Address (street, city/st, zip)
If you do not live within the parish boundaries AND are not a Vis parishioner, you will need to provide a "letter of consent" from your neighborhood Catholic parish BEFORE your child's baptism. Would you like Vis to help you with this?
Primary Contact Information (phone or email)
Is this your first child to be baptized?
Baptism Preparation Requirement
If this is your first child to be baptized, parents will need to complete Baptism Preparation. Baptism preparation at Vis. consists of 1 initial visit and 1 class. Classes occur in alternating months on a Saturday morning from 9:00 am - 11:00 am. Please plan accordingly to complete the class prior to your desired baptism date.
If preparation is needed, which upcoming month do you plan to attend class?
December 15, 2018
February 16, 2019
Not sure yet
Will prepare at another church prior to the baptism.
We don't need preparation classes since this isn't our first child to be baptized.
REQUESTED Date of Baptism
Please note that Visitation does not schedule baptisms during the seasons of Advent and Lent. (Advent 2018 is Dec. 2 - 25; Lent 2019 is Mar. 6 - Apr. 21)
REQUESTED Time of Baptism
The following times are best for clergy and staff. However, Visitation is committed to meeting any special needs of your family. BAPTISM TIMES WITHIN MASS - 4:00 pm Saturday once/month; 9:00 am and 11:00 am Sunday Masses once/month. BAPTISMS OUTSIDE MASS are offered once/month at 12:15 pm (following the 11am Mass) for up to four children.
