Spiritual Growth & Development Volunteer Interest Form
The SGD program recruits 100 volunteers every year.
Volunteering is a great way to give back to UUAA and connect with students.
Teaching is a commitment of 2 Sundays per month. One Sunday is spent leading the lesson for the week, while the other Sunday is acting as a classroom assistant.

Select any position that you are interested in volunteering for. These positions require that the congregant been coming to the church for at least 1 year and have a background check. An SGD staff person will reach out to figure out the best fit.
Nursery or Preschool assistant
K/1st Grade Teacher: Creating Home & Wonderful Welcome
2nd/3rd Grade Teacher: Moral Tales & Faithful Journeys
4th/5th Grade Teacher: Bibleodeon - Learn about the Christian and Hebrew Scriptures
6th Grade Teacher: Neighboring Faiths - Learn about and visit other faiths in our community
7th Grade Teacher: Values, Leadership, and Team Building
8th Grade Teacher: Our Whole Lives (OWL) - A comprehensive sexuality curriculum.
9th Grade Teacher: Coming of Age - Help youth examine their own beliefs, better appreciate Unitarian Universalism, and explore how these intersect.
10th-12th Grade Teacher: YRUU - A high school youth group with a focus on social action and community.
Coming of Age Mentor
Rover (hallway attendant, take attendance, give tours)
No Preference - place me wherever there is a need!
These jobs have a smaller time commitment, and don't have the same requirements as the jobs above.
SGD Greeter (greet people at the door Sunday morning and answer any SGD related questions)
Event Planner (Help with one or two events, recruit volunteers, make sign up sheets, etc.)
Help with Coming of Age Initiation weekend (Help plan, participate in ceremonies, purchase supplies, etc.)
Playground task force (Help gather supplies to maintain and improve playground)
Photographer/Videographer (Take pictures and video and share with SGD staff/post on Facebook)
Overnight Chaperone (Take a late shift during SGD overnights)
Run a craft table on various Sundays during Social Hour.
Organize/Maintain supplies (Activity baskets, Sanctuary and Social hall toys, supply closet for SGD, etc..)
