PIAC Survey - Best Practices for Parent Consultation
The Parent Involvement Advisory Committee (PIAC) is an elected group of parent volunteers whose mandate is to advise the TDSB on student success and parent engagement in education (www.torontopiac.com). The Consultations Working Group of PIAC is looking for feedback from the parent community. PIAC would like to know about experiences with TDSB communication, if the public consultations is reaching parents, if the communication methods are effective, if parents are able to provide feedback in an accessible manner, and whether parents feel their input is received or valued.

The TDSB is required to consult parents on initiatives that impact student success, equity, and parent engagement. This includes the review and revision of policies and programs and introduction of new budgets and plans. "Consultation" may take different forms including posting documents online for public view and comment, providing surveys to collect feedback, sending information to school councils, including notices of consultations in newsletters, or holding public forums.

Please answer the following questions about your experiences and at the end of the survey provide any additional information you feel is relevant.
