2020 JAM Camp Parent Application
***READ BEFORE COMPLETING***

ALL FORMS ARE DUE BY APRIL 6, 2020 LATE APPLICATIONS WILL NOT BE CONSIDERED.
Remember that this is an application form- your child will be notified by email on or before April 23 if they have been accepted to work at JAM Camp as a counselor or worker.

We try to place counselors with sports they request, but that cannot be guaranteed. They should be ready to serve where needed for the good of the camp.

There is a mandatory training meeting on Sunday, May 3rd from 12:30-3:00 in the Fellowship Hall (lunch will be served). There is a makeup meeting on Wednesday, May 13th at 8:15 pm in room 206-WC.

JAM Camp is June 22-26, 2020 from 9:00-4:00. Counselors are required to be here ready to work at 8:00 (7:30 on Monday). We are usually done cleaning up by 4:30(5:00 on Friday).

We will now have 3 tiers of Counselor leadership.
Senior Counselors lead each group of campers-each group has one Senior Counselor. We will have 15 Senior Counselors.

Junior Counselors assist Senior Counselors-the oldest 10 groups have one and the younger 5 groups have 2 Junior Counselors. We will have 20 Junior Counselors.

C.I.T. (Counselor in Training) Assists during one sport time each day. C.I.T.s will serve either in the morning (10:00-11:30) or in the afternoon (2:10-3:45). The duty of a CIT is to assist during Sport Times. A CIT may be asked to sub in the absence of a Junior Counselor.

JAM Camp is a phone free campus. There will be no use of phones by campers or counselors without permission from a director.

We will meet in the afternoon on June 21 to prepare the campus for camp and sort t-shirts. This is not mandatory-but is strongly encouraged. The time will be posted in the acceptance email.

To the parent: Your child is applying to work at JAM Camp at Hephzibah Baptist Church. Once accepted as a counselor/worker, attendance and promptness is vital. Please do not schedule any other appointments for your child during the week of camp. Issues relating to inappropriate or unsafe behavior or a failure to work hard as a team player will result in a youth being dismissed from their position at JAM Camp.
