#SmithGoesGlobal Fund Scholarship

Apply for the #SmithGoesGlobal Fund Scholarship to help reduce the out-of-pocket costs of study abroad such as airfare and personal expenses. The #SmithGoesGlobal Fund Scholarship consists of three types of awards: flight scholarship, semester program scholarship, and short term program scholarship. The application process is the same for all three awards. To be eligible to apply, students must have completed an application to the Education Abroad Fund Scholarship (deadlines: September 26 or March 1).

Application deadlines:
Spring, spring break, and winter programs: October 1
Summer, fall, full year programs: March 1

To be eligible to apply, students must:
be a current business major.
have applied or be in the process of applying to their first study abroad program at UMD.
have completed a FAFSA and receive financial aid.
have completed an application to the Education Abroad Fund Scholarship (deadlines: September 26 or March 1).

The following terms and conditions apply to all scholarship recipients. Please check each box to indicate that you understand all terms and conditions of the #SmithGoesGlobal Fund Scholarship (all boxes must be checked). *

Scholarship recipients must notify CGB if your study abroad plans change in any way.

Scholarship funds will be rescinded if the recipient does not participate in the study abroad program or if the recipient fails to complete and pass 75% of credits attempted while abroad.

Scholarship recipients can only be awarded one #SmithGoesGlobal Fund Scholarship and if awarded cannot apply again.

Scholarship recipients will be asked to provide the Center for Global Business with a testimonial about their study abroad program for future marketing purposes and to submit an impact statement for reporting purposes. Further details will be provided.
