Please read the follow code of conduct and sign below to indicate your agreement. All room parents must sign this in order to volunteer for classroom events.
1. I will remember that children learn by example and I will strive to set a good example.
2. I will maintain cordial relations with my fellow room parents. I will refrain from verbal, written, or physical behaviors that constitute harassment or abuse.
3. I will treat PTO members, volunteers, parents, students, teachers, and staff with dignity and respect.
4. When directed by the PTO, I will ensure responsibility for my class in any PTO fundraiser.
5. I will follow the guidelines for Head Room Parent and Assistant Room Parent as outlined by the PTO.
6. I will be responsible for all homeroom class parties, field trips, and classroom activities as set and directed by my child's teacher. In the event that I am unable to attend an event or activity, I will work with the other room parents to ensure the activity is adequately covered.
7. I will make every effort to include parents that want to be involved in class activities and trips as instructed by my teacher.
8. I understand that I am to be an asset to the teacher, staff, and students of my class and not a hindrance.
9. As a room parent, I will attend a minimum of three (3) PTO general membership meetings during the school year.
10. I will not publish or share a photograph of any student on any platform or social media site.
The above Code of Conduct shall apply to all interactions including in-person interactions as well as online discussion pages, blogs, forum pages, social media sites, and other wired or wireless communication methods.
Any member of the PTO can file a grievance against a room parent in accordance with Article 16 of the PTO By-Laws.
I am subject to review by the PTO Executive Committee for any conduct unbecoming a room parent and a representative of the PTO. The PTO Executive Committee has the right to impose penalties which may include being removed as a room parent for that year and for one or more successive years in the event that I cannot comply with the Code of Conduct.
