Senior Programmer - Hell Let Loose
Black Matter is an independent development studio founded in 2015 to support the development of debut title Hell Let Loose. Made up of an international team of selected artists and programmers, Black Matter is focused on creating beautiful worlds ruled by emergent, player-driven game design.
Developed for PC in Unreal Engine 4, Hell Let Loose is a realistic multiplayer World War Two combined arms first person shooter of open battles of up to 100 players with infantry, tanks, artillery and a shifting front line. At its core is a unique resource-based strategic meta-game that is easy to learn, but hard to master.
Summary
Black Matter is looking for an experienced Programmer to join in the development team on Hell Let Loose. The Senior Programmer will be responsible for developing and maintaining a wide range of game systems. Senior Programmer reports to Programming Lead.
Key Responsibilities
Developing quality, efficient, and well-tested code that is easy to maintain and extend
Working seamlessly with Quality Assurance to debug and fix existing and emerging issues
Collaborating with other team members to improve existing and discover new solutions
Requirements
Proactive problem solver
Very strong C++ skills
Good knowledge of the Unreal Engine 4 codebase
Experience in UE4’s material, audio, rendering, and animation systems
Understanding of the engine’s asset pipeline
Good knowledge of the engine’s game framework
Deep understanding of the engine’s client-server architecture, replication, and replication graph
Knowledge of PhysX, its UE4 integration, and its performance aspects
Has played Hell Let Loose
