Let’s come together to connect, share resources, and strengthen support for immigrant and refugee families through a day of roundtable conversations and other collegial activities. Join us for this FREE professional learning opportunity hosted by the Burlington School District Department of Multilingual Learners and the VT EL Leaders Collaborative.  

We welcome you to participate in two related but separate activities on the following days:

(1) Friday, May 1st, 3:00-6:00pm: Meet at Saint Michael's College in the Roy Room of the Dion Center for a welcome, mingle, and debrief of visits or online videos of VT colleagues teaching.

(2) Saturday, May 2nd, 8-3:30: Meet at Saint Michael's College in the Roy Room and other spaces in the Dion Center for a welcome, featured speaker(s), and several sessions of roundtable discussions with colleagues and collaborators, students, and family members

Here is what else you can expect: 

• Professional Learning Credit Hours (see below for more details)

• Educators from across Vermont sharing their experiences, expertise, and challenges

• Thoughts and information from professionals at the district level and state level

• An opportunity to network with other educators in the field

• Light refreshments (a light breakfast or coffee may be provided, as well as an afternoon snack. Lunch is on your own, or you can purchase tickets to eat at SMC's cafeteria)

• FRIDAY May 1st - 3:00-6:00pm Classroom visits during the day, and/or Preview short videos provided. Meet at SMC Dion Center to debrief and connect. 

• SATURDAY May 2nd, 8:00am - 3:30pm 
  Meet at SMC Center. Listen to featured speakers & participate in facilitated rountable discussions about topics of current interest for working with multilingual learners and families.
