History Committee
Showcasing the significance of Salem’s history and making it accessible and relevant to a broad audience, as well as ensuring the accuracy and consistency of our historic story. Chairs: Michelle Lawrence (Academy faculty) + Cynthia Marvin (College faculty)
Academic component
Incorporating the 250th theme into teaching and learning at the Academy and College in 2021-22. Chairs: Elizabeth Novicki (director of libraries)
Student life component
Engaging current students in their extracurricular activities and traditions. Chairs: Student life staff at Academy and College
Guest Speakers
Identifying speakers and creating a possible Speaker Series or Leadership Conference, as well as potential speakers for Founders Day and other traditional events. Chair: Ann Wilson Cramer C'66
Community Day
Planning a day during which we would welcome the public to our campus for tours and special performances/demonstrations that showcase Salem’s strengths and talents. Chair: Shari White Dallas C'83 and Andrea Falden Hulighan C'04
National Spotlight Events
Investigating the feasibility of recreating the journey from Bethlehem, PA, to this area undertaken by the Single Sisters in 1766 and/or a World-wide Day of Service. Chair: Deana Bass Willams C'95
Alumnae Events Off-site
Creating the content and plan for a “Road Show” to engage alumnae of all demographics who live beyond Winston-Salem. Chairs: Karla Gort Fisher C'00 + Abrea Armstrong A'09
Branding and Marketing
Strategizing and implementing plans to increase Salem’s visibility both locally and beyond. Angel Coleman C'98 + Katherine Montgomery White C'02
Commemorative Items
Including a license plate, postage stamp, and other memorabilia. Chair: Janie Butler Wilson A'67
Local partnerships
Engaging local organizations in the arts and business, and Moravian Churches, in a celebration of Salem Academy and College. Chair: BJ Buckland C'90 + Stephan Dragisic
