Student Conduct Participant Guide Application
Student Conduct Education and Administration is constantly striving to better serve our students at Oklahoma State University. As part of this mission we have recently developed a program in order to provide more support for students participating in the student conduct process. Student Conduct Participant Guides will have the opportunity to provide free, private consultations to students to help them prepare for conduct meetings/hearings. This is a great opportunity for anyone looking for new opportunities to help students who may be in need of extra support during a very stressful time.

The reasoning behind this program is that sometimes students do not feel comfortable asking the Student Conduct Office for advice or explanations when they are moving through the student conduct process. The goal for this program is for all students to feel they have someone they can talk to and have their questions answered before participating in the student conduct process. Guides will be able to answer general questions about the conduct process, and how students should best prepare for their role in the process. In addition to providing information about the conduct process Participant Guides will be able to discuss resources on campus and in the community to help deal with stress and self-care. It is an expectation that all guides remain unbiased, but still be able to provide care and support to all students participating in the student conduct process. Guides will not act as an advisor in a hearing, bur provide support and direction about the process before the hearing.

Employees of Oklahoma State University will be eligible to participate in this program. Applicants must be able to handle sensitive and confidential information, and be able to remain unbiased when working with students moving through the student conduct process. After initial training in September the guide position should not take more than 1-2 hours of time per month. Guides will need to attend Student Conduct Committee training in early September. The dates are 9/5 or 9/17. There also is a mock hearing on 9/27. In addition to Student Conduct Committee trainings there will be a an additional Guide training on a date that will be determined after guides are selected.

Support from a supervisor is vital in order to make the program a success, it is strongly encouraged to discuss your interest in this position with your supervisor. Employees interested in this opportunity can apply by filling out the application available here, by August 25th. If you have additional questions please contact Student Conduct staff, 405-744-5470, student.conduct@okstate.
