Applicant eligibility
- We offer tuition in the violin, viola, piano, and also welcome other instruments. Please indicate your chosen instrument on your application form.

- Young Artists: applicants are required to be at least ABRSM Grade 8 or equivalent level.

- Chamber music programme: limited number of spaces available.

- Age limit: 26 years old and under. In exceptional circumstances, we may accept students outside the age limit.
The following components are required in order to complete your application
- Fill out this application form

- Submit a short video link or perform a live audition. Submitted videos can be in the format of YouTube or Vimeo links, shared Dropbox links or MP4 video files. If an applicant chooses to perform a live audition, please prepare a maximum of five (5) minutes of music. Auditions will be held on 2 November. Please indicate whether you are submitting a video or auditioning live so we can contact you accordingly.

- Pay your $150 registration fee after submitting your online application. This fee is to secure your spot in the programme. Please email application@flyingdognz.com if you require further assistance.

Programme Fees and Costs
Please note: the registration fee ($150) is included in these costs.

Piano Programme - $550 ($450 for Suzuki Camp students*)
Strings Programme - $550 ($450 for Suzuki Camp students*)

Auckland Chamber Music Programme - $700 ($600 for Suzuki Camp students*)
Wellington Chamber Music Programme - $550 ($450 for Suzuki Camp students*)

AUCKLAND & WELLINGTON (combined)

Strings Programme - $750
Chamber Music Programme: $1000

*Please email us with proof of your Suzuki workshop attendance to redeem your discount.
What do my fees cover during the NZIYAF 2020?
- Piano Programme and Solo Piano Competition: Fees cover performance in student recitals, expert tuition and guidance from our Festival Guest Artists, tickets to all concerts, lectures, workshops and tours for two people (Young Artist and one parent/guardian).

- Strings Orchestra Programme and Solo String Programme: Fees cover string orchestra rehearsals, performance in student recitals, expert tuition and guidance from our Festival Guest Artists, playing alongside professionals, tickets to all concerts, lectures, workshops and tours for two people (Young Artist and one parent/guardian).

- Chamber Music Programme: Fees cover either the Piano or Strings Programme contents, plus chamber music coaching and rehearsals, performance for two people (Young Artist and one parent/guardian).

- Note: Fees listed above for Young Artists and Rising Stars do not cover private lessons and travel and accommodation expenses.

Information Day
The 2020 NZIYAF will hold an Information Day on 2 November for Auckland. Live auditions will be held on the same day for applications who did not submit a video recording.
Piano Concerto Competition and Solo String Programme
Participants who indicate they're interested in auditioning for the Piano Concerto Competition or the Solo String Programme will be notified of their audition time and date after applications are received. A separate audition is required for both of these programmes. Only success auditions will be granted acceptance into the Solo Piano Competition and Solo String Programme. Please also note if your application for the Solo String Programme is successful, you must also participate in the String Orchestra.
