**UPDATE 11/23** We are still organizing volunteers - cases will likely be assigned in mid to late December, with deadlines of 30 days after assignment**

On September 10-11, 2018 Typhoon Mangkhut struck several islands in the Northern Pacific. A Major Disaster Declaration (4396 and 4398) was issued on October 1, 2018 providing Individual Assistance to storm survivors. Stateside attorneys are needed to help individuals appeal denials of FEMA benefits. This endeavor will be coordinated with the local LSC grantees on the islands an the American Bar Association Young Lawyers Division, which oversees the Disaster Legal Services Program. Please fill his form out if you are interested in providing legal assistance to disaster survivors. Training is available, and each appeal typically requires 5-10 hours of work (shorter if you have handled these matters in the past).
