2018/19 Theme: Triumph & Tragedy
The annual 2-day NHDC Educator Workshop allows teachers to familiarize themselves with the History Day curriculum and how to implement it in their classroom. Whether teachers are introducing History Day for the first year or are seasoned pros--the Educator Workshop has something for everyone.
Tentative break-out sessions include: Keynote Address from Dr. Ed Crowther--NHD extraordinaire, Library of Congress Teaching with Primary Sources, using art as a primary source by American Museum of Western Art, History Day 101, History Day Advanced, Mastering the Thesis Statement, creating documentaries by Rocky Mountain PBS, Building a Winning Exhibit by veteran teacher and Greater Denver Metro Coordinator Kelly Cvanciger, and many more,
The Educator Workshop is free of charge. We will provide breakfast and lunch on both days, as well as a Happy Hour on the close of day one.
NHDC can help defray travel costs for schools participating for the first time or with a qualifying free-and-reduced lunch rate if travel is 75 miles or more.
Details and links to register for specific break-out sessions will follow in late summer.
