The Impact of Fashion (16th March - 3rd April)
A very exciting jam packed programme for anyone who is passionate about Fashion, creativity and heritage.
'The Impact of Fashion' will be a mix of interactive talks and creative workshops online in the comfort of your own home.
Here is the exciting line up:
16th March - 18.30 - 20.00pm
Dress History and Sustainability
PHD student Eliza McKee will discuss how society in the 18th & 19th century dressed, reused and mended what they had – using fabric locally and purchased from local makers.
Heather Mcguicken from North Down Museum will introduce and explore the museums fashion collection.
20th March
A New Stitch of Life - 14.00 - 16.00pm
A practical mending/repurposing workshop with artist Grace Mc Murray on how to darn and mend old clothing accessories for future use. *Participants will be supplied with materials for a new stitch of life workshop in the post.
24th March
Museums vs. Fast Fashion 18.30 - 20.00pm
An interactive talk with Charlotte Mc Reynolds Curator of Fashion at Ulster Museum, on how can thinking like a fashion curator help make you be more sustainable.
27th March
Illustrating Fashion - 14.00 - 16.00pm
The amazing Jamie Beard will be sharing tips and tricks in fashion illustration with a sneaky peek at his impressive portfolio of work. All you need is some drawing materials and paper. You can also work digitally if you wish.
31st March - 18.30 - 20.00pm
La Belle Epoque - 'the beautiful era' - Creating an exhibition in lockdown.
Charlotte Mc Reynolds, Curator of Fashion at Ulster Museum will be highlighting her newest fashion exhibition 'La Belle Epoque', which is a celebration of fashion from the museums permanent collection from 1870's - 1910's.

Big Sister Chat with Lucinda Graham
Lucinda Graham, designer/stylist will be taking us on her journey into NI's fashion industry, her own personal wardrobe and some tips on how to be successful in the creative industries here.
