Colorado West Ballet (CWB), a 501(c)3 nonprofit, is Western CO’s premier ballet company. CWB will open their Nutcracker Auditions up to children ages 6 & older who have previous ballet experience and are currently enrolled in a ballet class.  There will be 10 performances presented at CMU’s new Asteria Theatre; 12/18 at 7p, 12/19 at 7p, 12/20 at 2p & 7p, 12/21 at 1:30 & 6p, 12/22 at 2 & 7p and 12/23 2p & 7p. Children’s Cast will be divided into up to three casts with each cast performing a minimum of 3 performances (some parts may be just split cast with up to five performances). All dancers auditioning need to be available 12/12 & 12/13 as well as 12/16-12/23.  We are also looking for some older/ major roles to travel to perform in Montrose 12/1 (Dress Rehearsal) and 12/2 (performances). All casts will be announced by Sept 23rd via email with specific performance dates so you can get your tickets, join the 2025 Nutcracker "band" group, confirm participation and start gathering feedback to purchase tickets as they tend to sell earlier then most shows. Some roles will be contacted earlier to start following weekend.

There is an Audition fee of $25 due in advance (see link in email body) or at the time of the audition along with the form. This fee will go towards the $135 performance fee and will include rehearsals, costume rentals, and a digital link to the performance. In addition to this fee, we are requiring a minimum of 10 hours volunteer hours/ family.  This may include help with marketing, backstage help, costume organization, Public Relations, and performance follow ups. Rehearsals will be starting as early as 9/19 & 9/20 for some roles with most starting the weekend of 101/10 & 10/11. The remainder $110 participation fee will be due by 9/30. 

All weekly rehearsals will be on Friday after school 4:00-8p and/ or Saturday between 10a-5p.  Your dancers will not need to be there the entire time, just available at these times.  Specific schedule for casts will be posted shortly after casting. All dancers need to be available for tech and dress rehearsals. More detailed schedules will go out shortly after casting.
