The Tim McCarthy LGBTQ Youth Scholarship Program Application
The Tim McCarthy LGBTQ Youth Mentorship Program will enable an LGBTQ international student of color to attend the Provincetown Film Festival in June, screen their work, participate in a special student forum and connect one-on-one with industry professionals. This scholarship program honors the legacy of Tim McCarthy, a PIFF archivist for 20 years and an LGBTQ activist whose most important work focused on the atrocities against the LGBTQ community in Uganda.

Application is open to LGBTQ-identifying students who are (1) an international student enrolled in a Massachusetts-based college or university; (2) between the ages of 18 and 24 at the time of application; (3) pursuing a degree in film production, programming or is film related; (4) and is available to travel from Boston to the film festival in June 2019. The deadline to apply is March 15, 2019. Applicants will be notified by April 15th, 2019.

Candidates may submit one of the following: a 500-1000 word written essay; a 1-5 minute video essay or a 500-1000 word essay with up to 20 images answering the following questions:
-Who are you?
-What do you care about?
-Who do you care about helping?
-What do you want to do?
-Describe how you think this program will help you achieve your vision.
