CIDCI Remote Innovation Lab Application
The Center for Innovation and Design in the Construction Industry (CIDCI) is pleased to partner with faculty from UC Berkeley to launch a 6-week Remote Innovation Lab.
The CIDCI Remote Innovation Lab aims to help you – architects, builders, owners, and other leaders –identify ways in which you might transform the design and construction industries. Through a series of modules, we will guide you through the core phases of the innovation process: observe and notice, frame and reframe, imagine and design, and make and experiment. You will learn in the context of a project that you choose – this can entail a change your organization would like to make in its interactions with external customers (e.g., improve efficiency of planning activities with building owners), an internal project that forwards a corporate agenda (e.g., increase innovation capability in the organization), or other projects of interest to you.
Each week you will:
- Be given reading and resources to spark thinking
- Participate in a 90-min virtual session to learn from experts and share with peers
- Practice what you have learned through short activities applied to a project of your choosing
The Virtual Innovation Lab will meet via Zoom on Wednesdays from 3:00-4:30 PM PST. The Program runs from April 29 through June 3. All sessions will be recorded so if you have to miss one you can catch up!
