Puzzlepalooza FAQ
1) What is Puzzlepalooza?
Puzzlepalooza is an annual event open to Blair Juniors and Seniors. Students are placed of teams by of about a dozen and solve puzzles of all types in a race to see what team can first complete the final metapuzzle at the end of the week. Prizes are awarded, including for the Winning Team, the First Losers, the Coveted Spirit Award, and more.

2) Prizes? What sort of prizes?
The Prizes are Huge.

3) What kind of puzzles?
The puzzles are written by The Puzzle Lords (and occasionally alumni and other professional puzzle writers) and come in all shapes, sizes, and difficulties. The Puzzle Lords strive to challenge as many parts of your brain as possible, so there can be music puzzles, logic puzzles, word puzzles, crossword puzzles, physical puzzles, construction puzzles, and puzzles without a category.

4) When is it?
This year, it will be during the modified schedule days on the mornings of the 16th, 17th, 19th, and 20th of May. While most of the school's 10th graders are testing that morning, Juniors and Seniors who sign up come to the third floor those days and puzzle!

5) Can I have an example of a puzzle?
Sure. If you head on over to https://puzzlepalooza.mbhs.edu/, you'll see a link for each year we've run a Puzzlepalooza near the top. Each link has a retrospective of that year's Puzzlepalooza, and will include one to four puzzles from that year that you can try if you wish. Some may be easy, some are quite difficult.

6) How do I sign up?

If you could put wings on any unwinged, non-human animal, what animal would you choose and why? *
Who is your friend?
Participants of Puzzlepalooza 12 may not pick their team.  However, the Puzzle Lords have allowed participants to request one friend to be in their group.  In order for the request to be honored, both participants must mutually select each other as their friend.  If Jay Z lists Beyoncé and Beyoncé lists Jay Z, well then, Jay Z and Beyoncé will be on the same team.  However, if Jay Z lists Beyoncé and Beyoncé lists Mr. Schwartz, and Mr. Schwartz leaves this blank, no one benefits.  You are not required to have a friend in order to participate in Puzzlepalooza 12.
Would you purchase a T-Shirt? *
This does not oblige you to a purchase, but gives us a sense of interest. All proceeds go back into Puzzlepalooza, thereby making the Prizes Huge.
Is there anything else you'd like to tell the Puzzle Lords?
