WAFC is exploring a policy update for potential implementation this Spring 2022 which addresses gender ratios and formats for mixed leagues and events. This policy would establish a 1-3-3 ratio for 7-vs-7 mixed events, to intentionally center non-binary, transgender, genderqueer, and intersex athletes on the field. This change would also effectively remove imbalanced gender ratios (like 5mm/2wm*) as a planned format for WAFC 7-on-7 mixed events. As of 2021, several WAFC mixed events included 5/2 ratios as part of the league format, including our Clique Leagues, Night Owl Leagues and Summer Corporate/Mixed Team Leagues.
