Youth Law Academy Application 2020

The Youth Law Academy serves Oakland students to help them gain a better understanding of the U.S. legal system, college entrance requirements, careers in Law, and civic responsibility. The Youth Law Academy is designed to motivate students and enhance the academic skills necessary for success throughout high school and beyond. Students learn about exciting topics in ethic studies and even conduct a mock trial.

Classes meet once per week from 5-7pm at our office in the Fruitvale Village. There is no cost to participate in the Youth Law Academy!

CRITERIA FOR ADMISSION:

1) Candidates must be a Freshman at the time of applying. The program begins in the Fall of their 10th grade grade year (Fall 2020-2021 academic school year);

2) Currently attending an Oakland High School AND currently residing in Oakland;

3) Candidate must know they want to attend college upon high school graduation;

4) Candidate must be self-initiated and committed to completing program requirements.
