Copper Hills High School Golden Grizzly Staff of the Month Award
I. Purpose

The Copper Hills High School Golden Grizzly Staff Member of the Month Award has been established to recognize outstanding staff for their dedication, professionalism and work. Each month we would like to recognize one staff member at Copper Hills High School and highlight her/his achievements and contributions to the school. Those receiving these awards may be nominated by the faculty, staff, students, parents, or administration for excellence in their classroom and/or the school.

Regardless of the outcome, the Staff Recognition committee would like to stress that the real tribute of this award is the nomination. A nomination symbolizes the esteem and appreciation that everyone has for our staff here at Copper Hills.


II. Qualifications

Each month, we will recognize a different staff member based on her/his contributions to the school, excellence in the classroom, leadership abilities, citizenship, or community involvement. Staff will be nominated and selected based on excellence in ANY of the following criteria:

Awareness - Witness and have the courage to participate.
Examples: Leadership – serving as a leader not only in the classroom, but also throughout the school (officially or unofficially).

Gratitude - When you are thankful, you have more to give.
Examples: Excellence in the Classroom or in her/his job – consistently advancing students to higher levels of academic achievement.

Everyone Has a Story - Get to know people, everyone has a story to tell.
Examples: Motivation – having the ability to motivate and encourage students to advance past their expectations both academically and socially.

Respect (Kindness) - Be kind, be a friend, invest your time in others.
Examples: Dedication – showing excellent attendance, punctuality and a desire to see their students advance, in addition, participating in programs and activities outside the school day.
Communication – communicating articulately to their classrooms, colleagues and beyond.

Put Yourself Out There - Get out of your comfort zone.
Examples: Creativity and Imagination – demonstrating creativity and imagination in their lesson plans, teaching methods, or other job duties that motivate and inspire students, others, or the community to learn and grow.
Community Service – demonstrating the importance of civic responsibility by being active in community or other service organizations.


III. Nominations

How to Submit: Submit your nomination via this GoogleForm (see below).

The nominations for each month are due by the 20th of the previous month. Nominations received after the deadline will be added to the following month’s nominations. (if the person you nominated was not chosen for the month you nominated them, you can nominate them again the next month if you so choose) :)


IV. Selection & Presentation

The staff recognition committee will review all nominations. The official announcement will take place during the morning announcements of the first week of each month.


V. Rewards

Teacher of the Month recipients will be rewarded with:
A Certificate of Excellence.
Recognition at the school.
Golden Grizzly Trophy for Designated Month.
Acknowledgment in the Grizzly Growl, school newsletter, and CHTV NEWS.
