Camp Dixie Facility Reservation Request & Facilities Agreement

Thank you so much for considering Camp Dixie for your next retreat or summer camp.  In 1967, God provided this property to ENCACC to be used and taken care of for ministry. Since then, over 100,000 people have stayed or visited with us.

Being a Christian Camp Ministry, Camp Dixie supports our community.  Jesus told his followers to go make disciples and as Christians today we are called to do the same.  In discipleship efforts, Camp Dixie offers outreach events to our community by hosting four weeks of Christ centered summer camps, our annually held Open House, and opening our campground to other approved users throughout the year.

Being a Christian Camp Ministry, Camp Dixie serves many guest groups. Paul wrote in Galatians 5:22-23, “But the fruit of the Spirit is love, joy, peace, forbearance, kindness, goodness, faithfulness, gentleness and self control.  Against such things there is no law.”  We serve our guest groups with these fruits of the Spirits and by doing so, Camp Dixie becomes a part of the Kingdom Building Ministry of all our guests.

Camp Dixie must present a consistent public witness to the community through its stewardship of its property. Allowing facilities to be used by those who express beliefs or engage in practices contrary to Camp Dixie’s faith would have a severe, negative impact on the message Camp Dixie strives to promote and could cause confusion and scandal to employees and the community.

Camp Dixie may not in good conscience materially cooperate in activities or promote beliefs contrary to its faith (2 Cor. 6:14; 1 Thess. 5:22).

Therefore, only events consistent with Camp Dixie’s religious beliefs, as determined by Camp Dixie Board of Directors, The Advent Christian Conference of Eastern North Carolina, and Advent Christian General Conference shall be permitted.

Camp Dixie Statement of Faith

We believe the Bible to be the inspired, the only infallible, authoritative Word of God.  2 Tim. 3:16; 2 Peter 1:20-21

We believe that there is one God, eternally existent in three persons: Father, Son and Holy Spirit. Deut. 6:4; Matt. 28:19

We affirm the necessity to seek just and fair treatment of all people, seeking the ministry of reconciliation through the Gospel of Jesus Christ (2 Corinthians 5:16-21)

We believe in the deity of our Lord Jesus Christ, in His virgin birth, in His sinless life, in His miracles, in His vicarious and atoning death through His shed blood, in His bodily resurrection, in His ascension to the right hand of the Father, and in His personal return in power and glory. Phil. 2:6-11; 1 Peter 3:18; Rom. 5:9; Matt. 26:64

We believe that for the salvation of lost and sinful people, regeneration by the Holy Spirit is absolutely essential. Titus 3:4-7

We believe in the present ministry of the Holy Spirit by whose indwelling the Christian is enabled to live a godly life. John 14:15-18; John 16:13; John 16:7-11

We believe in the resurrection of both the saved and the lost; they that are saved unto the resurrection of life and they that are lost unto the resurrection of damnation.  1 Cor. 15:10-23; John 5:28-29

We believe God’s design was the creation of two distinct and complementary sexes, male and female (Genesis 1:27; Matthew 19:4; Mark 10:6) which designate the fundamental distinction that God has embedded in the very biology of the human race.

We believe that God has designed marriage to be a covenantal, sexual, procreative, lifelong union of one man and one woman, as husband and wife, and is meant to signify the covenant of love between Christ and his bride the church.  Gen. 2:18-25; Eph. 5:21-33

We believe that many sexual activities such as, but not limited to, adultery, fornication, polygamy, homosexuality, transgenderism, bisexuality, cross-dressing, are inconsistent with the teachings of the Bible and the Church (Exodus 20:14; Leviticus 18:22-23; Deuteronomy 22:5; Romans 1:26-27)

We believe that all human beings are made in the image of God and thereby possess unassailable dignity and worth according to the design of their Creator, irrespective of their race, gender, abilities, age, social class, or the circumstances of their conception; we affirm that human life begins at conception as confirmed by biblical revelation and natural revelation. (Jeremiah 1:5; Psalm 139)

We believe that man was created for immortality, but that through sin he forfeited his divine birthright; that because of sin, death entered into the world, and passed upon all men; and that only through faith in Jesus Christ, the divinely ordained Life giver, can men become “partakers of the divine nature,” and live forever.       2 Tim. 1:10; Rom. 2:7; 1 Cor. 15:22, 51–54

We believe in the spiritual unity of believers in our Lord Jesus Christ. Eph. 1:22-23; Acts 2:41-47

“This does not exhaust all of our beliefs. We turn to the Bible for all matters of faith, doctrine and morality. We turn to the Camp Dixie Board of Directors for final interpretive authority on matters of faith and morals at Camp Dixie, which will substantially accord with the beliefs of the Eastern North Carolina Advent Christian Conference and the Advent Christian General Conference.”
