Bastard Café Whistleblowerunit
This is the whistleblower units initiative.

Here you can sent in a formal remark about a problem you would want to address to the Bastard Café Whistleblower Unit.

The Whistleblower Unit, is independent from the management and can address concerns brought up or breaches on laws or work regulations. It is anonymous. And is your way to address dangerous, potentially criminal or in other ways problematic issues at Bastard Café as a work place.

The Whistleblower Unit is demanded by law for our size of company. This is a new initiative for us and we are working on improving information and conditions for reporting and whistleblowing. Feedback for how to improve on the whistleblower unit or a wish for clarifications are also very welcome to sent to us. Then we will update this general description part.

These discriptions and guidelines are based on and translated by us of the official danish guideline for whistleblowers:
https://www.justitsministeriet.dk/wp-content/uploads/2022/02/Vejledning-for-whistleblowere.pdf
We recommend you read the official version for a more extensive read. It is only in Danish though, so we have translated parts of it to contruct this form.

What is the purpose of a whistleblower unit - compared to for example going directly to the police?

As we understand it, The Whistleblower Unit is an alternative to use, if you are not comfortable with going to the police or not sure if it is relevant for them, then the Whistleblower Unit is an alternative way for you as a employee (or former employee) or volunteer at Bastard Café to address issues to be brought anonymously and addressed first by the Whistleblower Unit, who will either go to the police (If they deem there is an creditable breach of the law) or they will make clear recommendations to systemic change within Bastard Café if they so see fit. You are fully within your right to both contact the police or any public enforcement unit and also the Bastard Café Whistleblower Unit.

Anything can be brought to the attention of the Whistleblower Unit.
