We require all adopters to agree to the following terms. All Ridgewood Rescue Cats (unless otherwise specified) must be kept indoors, and may never be declawed. By checking yes below you agree that you understand the following and are prepared for the commitment:
A cat can live up to 20 years of age. You must be prepared to make a lifetime commitment to your cat. Adopting is not a spontaneous decision and it requires thought and planning. Cats do not deserved to be abandoned if you move or dumped when they get it old. Sadly, this still happens. A cat is a member of the family to be treated with love and respect. A cat requires some work and you should expect some mess and inconvenience with a cat as you would with a child. A pet is a lifetime commitment. A single cat will cost about $1000 per year in food, litter and basic medical care. This does not include any health related emergencies that may arise. Your cat will need annual checkups. Cats are subject to common ailments that will periodically need to be treated by a vet. Expert medical care needs to increase as your cat gets older, including dental work. Do you agree to these terms?

Is there a particular cat or cats you are interested in adopting? If so, please list their names below. Please note: all Ridgewood Rescue kittens must be adopted in pairs or to a home with an existing pet.
Your answer
Ridgewood Rescue does require a home video, virtual home tour or in person home tour (if you are unable to make a video or do a virtual tour) as
basic
safety check prior to adopting a cat or kitten (we don't care whether your bed is made!). We look for
secure windows (with screens)
and
potentially toxic plants
. Here are two resources:
ASPCA toxic & non-toxic plants
and
signs your cat may have ingested something toxic
. This is standard rescue pre-adoption protocol. Do you agree to this term?
