Are you an Architect or Designer (or one in training!) who loves to share your joy of design with children? No experience is necessary. In the majority of our programs, you will work along side an experienced Design Educator. Just bring your enthusiasm, energy and a sense of fun - you make our programs possible!
Family Design Day programs encourage children and adults to observe, explore, and design together. In these two-hour hands-on workshops, families are introduced to architecture and design through exhibit tours, walking tours, or slideshows and then complete a hands-on design activity. Architects and design educators lead the activities focused on the built environment of Boston and the world (or universe!). Go to http://www.architects.org/bsaspace/programs-and-events/learning-design to see descriptions of these programs.
In these Family programs, volunteers typically help set up the activity and the space, guide families through model building activities and presentations - always lots of fun - then help clean up.
