Current Vaccinations
Pets must be up to date on rabies vaccinations. We strongly recommend they are current on distemper and Bordetella vaccinations. Proof of rabies vaccination is required prior to a grooming appointment. If your pet is recently vaccinated, please wait at least 48 hours before setting up a grooming appointment. Please email or text copies of vaccination records for our file. 

Fleas/Ticks
If your pet has any fleas, they will be given a flea treatment at your expense of $15-20. You will be notified in advance. If you decline, you can reschedule your appointment after you resolve the flea issue. We can recommend flea and tick products to help you resolve the issue. 

Aggressive Pets - Refusal of Service
Chely's Pets exercises a calm, loving environment with soothing music and soft spoken words. But sometimes, a pet can become dangerous and uncooperative due to stress and other variables. Chely's Pets reserves the right to refuse grooming services at any time before, during, or after grooming. 

Accidents
Some grooming equipment is sharp. Although Chely's Pets is an AKC SAFE Certified Groomer that practices extreme caution and care, potential problems may occur such as cuts, nicks, scratches, etc. Each pet's behavior/personality are different. At any moment, unpredictable and random behavior can occur, such as lunging at the groomer or moving and barking erratically due to hearing certain frequencies the normal human ear cannot hear. The safety and comfort of your pet is our priority. We employ safety leashes at all times and muzzles - when needed. In the event of an accident, you will be notified. If Chely's Pets feels it is serious and you are unreachable, we will seek immediate veterinary care for your pet. 

Health or Medical Problems
On rare occasions, grooming can expose a hidden medical problem or aggravate a current problem. This can occur during or after grooming. All veterinarian medical expenses will be covered by the pet's owner. 

Matted/Tangled Coats 
Pets with severe matted coats require extra attention. Mats in a pet’s coat grow tight, and can ultimately damage and tear the pet's skin, which provides a breeding ground for parasite infestations. Mats can be very difficult to remove, and may require the pet to be shaved. Removing a heavily matted coat can cause nicks, cuts or abrasions due to skin growths trapped in the mats. Heavy matting can also trap moisture and urine near the pet's skin allowing mold, fungus or bacteria to grow, producing skin irritations that existed prior to the grooming process. In rare instances, after-effects of mat removal procedures can include itchiness, skin redness, self-inflicted irritations or abrasions and failure of the hair to regrow. In some cases, pets may also exhibit brief behavioral changes. Prevention is the best defense by scheduling regular grooming appointments, every 4-6 weeks. If your pet needs to be shaved to remove matting, by signing below, you acknowledge that you agree to this procedure, and any risk. There will be an additional charge for this process: it is time consuming, and causes extra wear and tear on grooming equipment. The additional charge can be estimated and communicated by Chely's Pets prior to appointment.  

Veterinarian Authorization - Medical Emergencies
This release gives Chely's Pets full authorization to seek medical treatment from the nearest veterinarian in the case of any medical emergencies. All veterinarian costs and expenses will be the responsibility of the pet's owner. 

Cancellations/No call, No show
Chely's Pets provides an exclusive one-on-one grooming service. We ask that any cancellations be made at least 24 hours in advance. 

Pickup Times/Boarding fees/Leaving Pets Behind
Chely's Pets will provide a pickup time approximately 30-60 minutes via text before the pet is ready for pickup. Pets must be picked up within 30 minutes of their assigned pickup time. Pets that are not picked up within 30 minutes of their pickup time will incur a $40.00 boarding fee. This fee covers the cost (and the post clean up/sanitizing logistics) of setting up  a safety cage to provide the pet with clean water, food, bedding, and an area to poop while they await your return. In the event that an owner ignores all communication and leaves their pet at Chely's Pets past closing hour, Chely's Pets will keep the pet boarded only until the following work day - a total of 2 days maximum. If the owner has not responded to any form of repeated communication on the 2nd day, and if no response from the pet owner's emergency contact (if any), Chely's Pets has no option to but to contact the nearest Animal Control to house the pet. Chely's Pets is grooming facility, not a professional boarding facility. We simply do not have the resources to board pets long term. 

Payment
Payment is due at the time of pickup. We accept cash, credit/debit cards, GooglePay, or Zelle. 

Communication SMS/MMS Permissions
For swift communication regarding your pet, appointments, and pick-up times, we send these notifications via SMS. By signing and submitting this form, you OPTING-IN to SMS/MMS notifications, granting Chely's Pets permission to send SMS regarding your pet. At anytime, you can reply STOP which will opt-out of future SMS messages. Immediately contact us to OPT-IN again. We do not sell, share, or distribute any of your data to third-parties. Your contact information is solely used by us to contact you about your pet. Message and data rates may apply. Frequency of messages vary.
