Apply to begin Iaido practice
Multnomah Aikikai is accepting applications to begin Iaido training. The first step is to fill out this form then we'll contact you about scheduling a dojo visit so that you may observe a class and speak with the Chief Instructor.

A. We limit class size to maximize safety.  We accept only a few new students at a time. We value a welcoming environment, yet it is not feasible for our small dojo to accept every applicant.

B. If accepted to the program, incoming Iaido students must provide a working email address they check often. Students are invited to join our dojo's Discord server. Monthly dues will be paid through our membership platform by "auto-pay" drawn on the first of each month. You may pay by bank EFT or credit card.

C. The monthly dues rate for members practicing Iaido, only one class per week, is $78/ month. Students who practice more than once per week join the dojo as a "Regular Member" and pay $134/ month. There are some other equipment costs and options upon starting iaido practice, which will be explained on your dojo visit.

Required
7. Iaido practice is not easy. It takes a willingness to study yourself and the nuances of your body movement. It will take willingness to perform the forms awkwardly, notice what you are doing, watch others and gradually incorporate changes. It requires a balance of self-compassion and a drive to continually improve.  Are you ready to step up to this challenge?
