FOREST Canopy Admissions Application 2026-27
Thank you for your interest in joining the 2026-27 FOREST Canopy Program! 

The FOREST program is a unique and impactful opportunity for middle and high school students to connect and be part of a close-knit community while learning new skills and developing a sense of themselves in the outdoors.

Eligibility: students must be 12 years old by and have completed one season of FOREST Understory, FOREST Canopy, Cutting edge, Young Mentors, or any of our Overnight camps to be eligible for the 2026-2027 FOREST program. 

FOREST Canopy is a big commitment. If you choose to enroll, you will be committing to spend 9 months of your year with us. You will attend weekly meetings on either Tuesday or Thursday, go on monthly full-day outings (plus a few overnight trips), and engage in outdoor activities on your own time. As this program requires responsibility and commitment and we want you to be successful, we have this application to help us determine who might be the best fit by considering a variety of factors:
  • Your perceived commitment to following through with the program
  • What you may gain from this experience and how it will impact other areas of your life
  • Your attitude
  • If you've had any previous FOREST experience
  • Any unique contributions you are likely to bring to the program.
If you are interested in FOREST, but your schedule doesn't allow for the time commitment of Canopy, consider our FOREST Understory program!  

Note that FOREST Program activities may involve: traveling over uneven terrain, working with fire, using tools such as axes, saws and knives, and sleeping away from home in a variety of environments that may include mock "survival" outings. Program activities will also operate outdoors in all kinds of weather throughout the year. We are committed to providing reasonable accommodations for students to participate in these activities, and it is up to you to decide when or if you will disclose a disability or accommodation need.

Any personal information (gender identity, special accommodations, etc.) collected on this registration form is confidential and will only be used by FOREST instructors to provide the best possible support to you as a participant. This information will NOT be used to deny participation and will NOT be shared with third parties.

The application deadline is August 17th. Selected students will be notified by August 21st.
